Nature Is Pretty Damn Groovy.
Amee Ellis required a particular aesthetic that complemented her photography in much the same way a talented sommelier chooses the perfect white wine to run alongside the flavor profile of a fatty fish. Our solutions had to strike a balance between a soft elegance and the tongue & cheek playfulness she is well known for. We drew inspiration from black and white photography processes in the darkroom, ambient textures shifting in and out of focus, and the shear weight of nature's sublimity. We knew at the end of the day, the look and feel of the brand needed to present a simple back-drop for her photographs of nature to take center stage.

Just Keeping It Puuuurty Simple.
As fine artists ourselves, we often seize opportunities to organize and develop exhibitions of our work to present to the public. Ancillary projects sometimes require a publication to be designed that presents that work in a way that allows space for the exhibition's narrative to breath easily without being stifled by an entities imposing brand ideals. It's a delicate dance a graphic designer has to accomplish effortlessly to feel like the solution is a success. This project for Amee Ellis was no different and ended up being one of our favorite projects to tackle since forever.
